The way to a great hosting experience is to communicate every process as SIMPLY as possible for your guests. This goes for check-in, house rules, and other requests you have for them during their stay at your Airbnb.

Signs are a great way to give gentle reminders or requests while guests are using your space, and one of those places I like to use signs for are in the bathroom.

I find that there are two Airbnb bathroom signs that I like to use at our properties that help guests to understand our unique property and processes. That’s why I created the two Airbnb bathroom signs that I’m sharing in this post.

Bathroom Etiquette Signage For the Toilet

Probably the most important Airbnb bathroom sign to have is for any special instructions you’ve got for using the good ol’ commode.

You can prevent yourself that dreaded phone call of a clogged toilet or other damage to your plumbing system caused by someone flushing something they shouldn’t have by using a sign.

A simple reminder of what to flush or not flush can prevent that scenario. Common phrases you can use are:

Please flush only toilet paper and natural waste.

Please do not flush any product other than toilet paper.

Please do not flush feminine hygiene products, baby wipes, or paper towels. Only flush toilet paper.

Please hold lever down until all waste has been flushed.

Another bathroom sign I personally use at my properties is one that lets the guest know that we offer special face towels for removing makeup.

Having guests use these towels cuts down on stain removal time for our launderer, since makeup stains can be really difficult stain to remove from. It also prevents us from losing inventory due to not being able to remove stains.

I love that the towels are embroidered with the word makeup, so that it’s clear what their purpose is for. However, that being said, we still get a considerable amount of guest ignoring our black towels and removing their makeup on white washcloths and body towels!
